Trinkey State Conservation Area Plan of Management
Trinkey State Conservation Area is located approximately 12 kilometres east of Tambar Springs and 41 kilometres south-west of Gunnedah. The park forms part of a chain of reserves stretching the length of the Brigalow Belt South and Nandewar bioregions.

It provides some connectivity in a highly cleared and fragmented landscape between the larger reserved lands to the west such as Warrumbungle National Park and the Pilliga conservation reserves, and the Liverpool Range to the south.
Trinkey State Conservation Area was formerly state forest and was established under the Brigalow and Nandewar Community Conservation Area Act 2005.
The park protects threatened ecological communities and an abundance of native animal species including 103 birds, 20 mammals and 7 amphibians. Trinkey State Conservation Area also protects Aboriginal heritage and provides an important connection to Country for the Gamilaraay (Gomeroi) Aboriginal People.
