Saving our Species delivers the Biodiversity Conservation Program under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.
Saving our Species conservation strategies are developed for threatened species and ecological communities, as well as many key threatening processes. Conservation strategies inform threatened species management in New South Wales.
Part 9 of the Act outlines provisions for public consultation on draft conservation strategies.
Draft Saving our Species conservation strategies have been developed for:
- recently listed threatened species and ecological communities
- existing conservation strategies that have been updated.
The draft strategies were developed in consultation with key stakeholders, experts, external agencies and Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water staff to ensure they meet the objectives of the Saving our Species program.
