Celebrate a great Aussie icon at the Koala Fest Hawkesbury

Koala Fest Hawkesbury is back! This year, the festival will take place at Governor Phillip Park, Windsor. Join koala conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts on Sunday 8 September from 10 am to 2 pm for a day of live music and entertainment. The event will be an opportunity not only to celebrate the koala population of the Hawkesbury region, but also to raise awareness about to better protect them.

‘It’s all about bringing state government, local government, community organisations – including citizen science groups – together to educate the community and talk to them about the sorts of projects they’re working on to save koalas and their natural environment’, said Richie Benson, founder of the Cumberland Reach Landcare Group and coordinator of the event.

Koala Fest Hawkesbury is supported by the NSW Koala Strategy and the Saving our Species program. Alongside with free children activities, raffles with great prizes, koala sniffer god demos, wildlife show and food trucks, koala tree seedlings will be handed out to landholders interested in koala habitat restoration.
